The Hemel Hempstead Branch was formed on a cold November evening in 1984 after much hard work by John Frawley Mike Gilbert and Ray Picton and 16 ex-members of the Regiment attended a meeting to elect officers of the branch. in the 21 years since the branch has grown to the present membership of 240. Much of this success is due to our former membership secretary, the late Ray Burdett, who seemed to be able to smell a Suffolk at a distance of ten miles. From the start we decided to take members from wherever they live in the world, and with the aid of modern technology we keep our members fully informed of news and events about the regiment. Our meetings are held at the RBL club in Hemel Hempstead on the last Friday in each month at 11am as many have to travel some distance to attend.
The format for our meetings always start with the exhortation followed by OCA business. after the meeting we gather in the lounge bar to socialise with our fellow Suffolks. Annual Subs are £2.50 and for this you will receive the minutes of each monthly meeting plus four branch newsletters per year.
